Here at Hollycroft Veterinary Centre we have a range of professional surgical facilities.
Many Veterinary procedures require a general anaesthetic. At Hollycroft Veterinary Centre we use only the safest anaesthetic agents. We will perform blood tests prior to anaesthesia, before carefully administering the anaesthetic agent and oxygen. We also have resuscitation facilities, all of which are regularly tested and inspected. All of our patients are carefully monitored by our qualified, registered veterinary nurses during the process and throughout recovery. In addition, monitoring using digital pulse oximetry ensures that oxygen levels are well-maintained.
Our operating theatre is comprehensively equipped, including access to both injectable and gaseous anaesthetics and specialist equipment. All instruments are autoclaved to sterilise. Our most common operations
are neutering (both spays and castration), orthopaedic surgery, abdominal surgery and lump removal.
Our veterinary surgeons can also perform complex surgery; exploratory surgery, tissue biopsies and internal tumour removal, along with less complicated procedures such as cyst and wart removal.
We have access to our own state of the art blood analysers. To enable us to check and monitor many body functions. Together with analysis of urine and microscopy of various tissues we can often have results available the same day which enables rapid treatments for your pet.
We use an outside laboratory for more complex cases with results normally available in a few days.
